This is a simple matter - if there's a valid contract, take the issue to court instead of the pages of a newspaper.

The direction and evolution of the record industry is a different, and more complex matter. But I don't understand people like Ebikela who think the government is the solution to every problem in Nigeria. Did the government discover or sign the artists in the first place? And even more pertinently, what makes you think that the "leaders" in the Nigerian government, who have proven monumentally incompetent at virtually everything except incompetence and corruption, would have anything useful to contribute. They haven't delivered electricity, water, security, roads, healthcare, education, fair elections but you want them to fix the music industry?

If you think you can do better, become a "so-called" music label CEO yourself. Or let the artists do the same, and exploit themselves. Everyone thinks it's simple until you try it. (Not that I care for Solomon, who should probably go back to selling videos. As for his comment about foreign companies not signing Nigerians - negro please - the music industry worldwide is suffering. If they wouldn't release a new Michael Jackson album when he was alive, it's Djinee they would release?).

Such things will continue to happen in the music industry unless the gov't does some thing to help the musicians mostly the up coming ones who are still trying to make a name. That's how so called music label CEO will continue to exploit these artistes.
