i dont agree with iyke at all, is this not a case the police should be commended for, why all this questions. Look, i ve always say that, that smooth talking gov who have innocent woman-like voice is not honest, he is only pretending. Last time, he complained against all the governors of south eastern states for no reasons. I suggest his aides should be arrested and prosecuted pending when he comes down in 2010. This is a pure case of money laundering. This case should not be swept under the carpet like others.

WHEN LAST DID THEY RUSH IN WITH SUCH PRECISION TO ROBBERY SCENES TO ARREST ARMED ROBBERS? ALL THESE SET UPS ARE FOR 2010 ELECTION. WHO ESCORTED THE N250M BRIBE TO NYSC STAFF IN THE EKITI RE-RUN ELECTION? WHY DID THE POLICE NOT ARREST THE CONVEYERS OF THAT AND OTHER HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS THAT WAS USED IN THAT RE-RUN ELECTION? Please tell Okiro to also launch an investigation on how Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State reportedly spent over 300 Million Naira on his wedding to Yar’adua’s daughter earlier this year. In addition they can also ask him the source of the money used to purchase the exotic Honda Accords he is presently dolling out to members of the Yar’adua extended family.

Suprising! That a governor of a state will personally carry cash of up to N250 million to hand over to a contractor in Lagos.The questionable transaction leaves more questions and a sour taste in the mouth than answers.I wonder whether the “contractor” ever bidded for any project in Anambra State? (2)If this mythical “contractor” did bid for contracts in Anambra State,did mr Onwubuasi Peter Gregory Obi or his aides,take the bidding documents down to Lagos to the “contractor” for the “contractor’s” convenience? (3)When did it become the norm or practice for contractors to be paid in cash by government,whether Federal,State or Local? (4)And is it normal and in the interest of the citizens for “contractors” to choose the place and town convenient for them to recieve payments? (5)Why would the payments be made in cash and in the private premises of government officials? (6)I presume the voucher was in the “contractors name,one wonders how and who cashed it on behalf of the “contractor”? (7)Or was the the money,N250million,taken from the petty cash till of the government?
Maybe mr Obi,out of concern for his underdeveloped state and love for contractors,being one himself,wants to make things easy,smooth and fast for contractors,so they now pay whosoever wishes in cash and even transport it to the nearest branch office/goods depot/wharehouse of mr Obi close to the contractors home/office.One wonders how many “contractors that might have benefitted from mr Obi’s foresight and magnaminity,and how the payments are recorded and reciepted for accounting purposes.Mr Onwubuasi PeteGregory Obi a self styled “banker”(been a director and chiarman of a bank,and thus refers himself as a banker),should know how problematic this his style of “helping” his state and “contractors” is-one wonders if the “reciept” given to a government contractor and the payment collected in the governors private premises/office/residence will tally

Nigeria Police helps us for we know you can help only if their will be sincerity with your job.Emulate western police with enough zeal to help their country.In Germany police is just everywhere to help people.

A reasonable person will know from onset that gov Obi is not a PDP man and thats why they can find that sum in his car. Bravo to the chief of thief Okiro, wow! Okiro is now chief investigator, wonder shall never end in Nigeria! If majority of people commenting here are commending Obi for the work he is doing then we should know that PDP is on fire to bring him down. The aide who also the PDP informant should keep up “his goodwork”. It will soon boomerang! One thing is that i dont doubt Obi trying to silent that money (because he is a nigerian politician), they always try to steal and it doesnt matter if they work or not. Besides, once you are not for PDP you should be ready for scrutiny all the time. I pity him though based on what the bloggers are saying about his good work in his state. I would have applauded the police-led Okiro if and only if the gov is a PDP gov. Okiro of all people! Nonsense! What a shameless individual.

Well whether its PDP or not, it is important to establish whether our governor stole public funds.The mere fact that all thieves have not been apprehended does not make the one in the net not guilty.

The police and EFCC continue to investigate Tinubu and I am sure they are watching not just Obi, but also Fashola and any successful non-PDP governor. Is it not amazing that while most PDP governors are busy looting the treasury as we speak, the police never intercept them, a governor like Peter Obi who is doing visible work and gaining popularity is being accosted and made a spectacle. This is not to say the man is not complicit, however, in a country where executive brigandage is endemic, one cannot help but wonder why only those who have done well (Ribadu, El Rufai, Tinubu) and those who are trying to do well (Obi et al) are the ones being most doggedly investigated/pursued!

Just as i thought, this is real inside job.

What a shame? But frankly speaking I am quite surprised that Obi being the only honest and wise man in Anambra state, did not see that coming.

Clearly, Peter’s political opponents have used his “trusted” aids to score a damaging one above him.

Well, nothing lasts forever. A taste of bitter betrayal. Perhaps it will help peter to know the taste of betrayal. he abandoned many compatriots who helped him to regain his mandate and return to office after he was impeached. I would not be surprised if any of his disappointed friends and compatriots are behind this embarassing travail.

I am more embarrassed and troubled because I have listened to and heard Peter swear in God’s name and his children’s too that he will never touch a penny not belonging to him. Is this his commeuppance for using the name of our dear God in vain or a mischevious stinct by his enemies? time will tell.

If it is indeed true that he has anything to do with the planned but averted grand theft then i will never trust anyone and would suggest that we reurn to military or colonial rule to allow ourselves to be reared like animals. The benefit of this is that no one can be blamed for the acts of men and women with guns over whose act we have no say or control as in a presumed but non existent democracy.

Peter must take note. His enemies and friends turned enemy because of his Mr Know it all user and abuser personality must now be on his case and may never let him go. I can sense a determination to destroy his political career and i have no fear that they will achieve their aim. i would be surprised if he does not end up like ribadu and others. If i were him i will not evn bother with theb 2010 elections. If people are really looking out for him as he believes, why on earth would his aid allow homself to be used against him in this way.

I am not saying that he can still from us if he indeed tried to steal but if he were trying to steal why did his aid not tip him off about the plan and advise him to keep his nose clean. His trail is clearly a case of if rat follow the lizard for a deep sea swim, if the lizard’s skin dries up the rats skin will not. Peter should watch out and begin to prepare himself for the troubles and blackmail that will follow from this singular disdaniful act.

Gossssssshhhhhh! 2010 is going to be historically exemplary in Anambra State and Nigeria.

On a tangent now, can someone please explain the law to Andy Uba and advise him to save his loot for another day. He did not work hard for his thrillions because if he did he would know not to waste it on frivolous legal petitions that will never get anywhere.

Good on his lawyers who are lining their pockets.
