What a Pity. Treachery and judas have always been a problem in all struggles. You name it from the black panthers in America, to the ANC, and our own Nadeco in Nigeria. Do not be discouraged and its about time you start going for recognised fifth columnist in your mist. The only thing this government responds to are guns and loss of oil revenue since there will be no money to steal. MEND your oil war is having the desired effect thats why the governement is running from pillar to post trying to coerce the youths into accepting amnesty. See the ‘big picture, and negotiate from a point of strength. Mr Kingsley how has chevron treated the people of Delta state in terms employment and contract opportunities over the years? It seems you are one of the few collaborators with the Governement and Oil companies to delibrately suppress your own people. The only way you can secure installations and for peace and harmony to reign is for the Government to address the followings. If you do not address the main issue you will find out as they found out in Iraq that the costs of securing contact works is almost three times the contract costs and in most cases they do not work.
Why not advice those who gave you the contracts since you have their ears to address the followings:
1. The International Multi National companies in the Niger Delta. These companies operate as cow boys and with reckless abandon, They have destroyed the environment, the waters, the lands of the Niger Delta. They polluted the waters, lands and the environment and as a result, the people can not farm on their lands or fish in their waters, which is their main occupations. The people are dieing dailly of diseases, caused by the polution to the environment. These multi nationals build cheap infrastrutures like pipe lines etc., without regards to internationally accepted norms and good practices. There will never do such things in other parts of the world, where they are operating, otherwise they will pay very dearly for such horrible practices. The multi Nationals have made a lot of money from these sharp practices, at the expence of the lives of the people of the Niger Delta.
2. The next offenders are federal and state governments of all shades, both past and present, who have made lot of money by ignoring and encouraging with nods, the multi National companies to get away with murder. .
3. The third group are the so called selfish leaders, or do i say dealears of the Niger Delta, who have also made a lot of money from the sufferings of the people of The Niger Delta, Some of the them and their collaborators, sponsor the criminals, to forment and cause a lot of sufferings to the people of the Niger Delta.
4. The President must without futher delay, publish the names of those, who have been sponsoring these criminals in the Niger Delta. The President must name and shame them.
Now that you have given amnesty, to the genuine agitators, we should now have a truth and reconcilliation commitee, so that we can learn a lesson from all these.
WHAT THE PRESIDENT SHOULD DO NOW!!
The federal government should introduce, a wind fall tax on the huge profits, the multi nationals made over the period and use ALL the money for the IMMEDIATE developement of the Niger Delta and the ecconomic empowerment of the people of the Niger Delta. This is what is done, even in developed countries. In Great Britain, when the Labour came into power, they introdued the wind fall tax, inorder to claw back some of the huge profits, the companies made, when the Conservative party in government, sold very cheaply all government companies during the Privatization process. ALL the money realised was used to creat new jobs and train the unemployed. This move was very popular with the British public. You should bear in mind that, most of the companies, that made the huge profits in The Niger Delta, are British and American companies. This move will be popular in Nigeria and these British and American companies will not fault it. All you have to do is, to refer them to what happened in the United kingdom.
ALL the money realised from the excess crude, which was got any way, from the Niger Delta, should be used for the immediate ecconomic development and empowerment of the people of the Niger Delta.
The federal government should draw down now, 30% of its external revenue for the immediate ecconomic developement of the Niger Delta and ecconomic empowerment of the people of the Niger Delta. The ferderal government should not give the usual excuse, that this draw down will affect the value of the naira, as this is a price that, we should pay for the peace and stability of the Niger Delta and Nigeria. ALL THESE MUST BE DONE NOW!! Mr. President do all these and you have solved the problems in The Niger Delta permanently. If you do ALL of these history and prosterity will remember you very kindly. If you do not do the above you are in a cloud-cus-koo-land.

It is quite unfortunate that we are back to square one and the centre cannot do anything meaningful to protect the network of pipelines. The oil industries are not helping matters. They know the important of pipeline to their operations and they pay those watching over their pipeline skimpy amount of money and they want those people to put in their maximum. I also believe in the saying that who much is given much is expected of that person.
Those community persons employed to guard the pipeline or flow line have the capacity to secure and make safe the pipelines but they cannot because they see their work as part-time work, which cannot bring food into their table. It is very disturbing oil company who pay their workers amazing amount of money will pay a contract staff who did not have retirement benefit meagre money.
Until oil companies change their attitude and pay contract staff-amazing sum of money them, they can get the best out of those employees. They work hoping to earn a living but what they get from the system is disappointing and frustrating. They are treated like slave who did not have the right to have basic things of life.
The way ford of the quagmire is that oil companies should pay their contract staff living wages, salary that will enable those workers to have the basic things of life such as shelter, train their children and above all, make them to have stake in the business of crude oil production. Then and then oil pipeline will be secured and protected; no MEND will blow a pipeline being guarded by their brother(s) such act that will take food from their table they will vehemently oppose it and do everything humanly possible to stopped any person that blow up any oil facility.

Yes Yar’ adua N50 billion has started working, Get some few greedy ones among them give them some CHANGE from the N50 billion.

Can’t our people ever do the right thing, the Government has started the amnesty process with the wrong step by using divide and rule, how long do they think this will continue.

Kingsley or whatever you call yourself, just because they gave you just a peanut you think you can safe guard Chevron Installations (What a whole Nigerian Military have not being able to achieve) by laying down your life (well, I wish you good luck), You are like a palace servant that is servant to a monarch and all his offspring (children, grand children, great grand children, unborn linage) will be a servant.

Let me tell you a story, during Nigerian civil war, there was Traitor in my village who was carrying the enemy solders to all nooks and cranny of my village, the villagers warn him but he did not listen, a day came when the money the solders kept fell down behind where they kept it, They shot him thinking he stole the money it was few days later they saw the money where it fell, but of course it was too late ‘cos our traitor friend had gone to the land beyond. I will advice you to collect whatever they have given to you and keep quiet, you big fool.

Also, when they finish using you, I hope one day you will not carry arm and start protesting. I believe too that government or Chevron will give you Bazookas for keep to help safe guard the installations.

This Kingsley guy is one big fool, Didn’t he know that the oil company only sent relief material after the members of house accused of Inhuman behaviour.
