Lets be looking forward! Did you see the players Brazil used in winning the Confederaton cup? Did Brazil hanged on to Ronaldo, Ronadiho? Lets face the fact, Okocha has done well, lets look for the likes of Luis Fabiano, Kaka, and the rest, we have them in abundance, we only need a good coach to bring them out!

Okocha is good in the midfield and freekick but instead of comeout of retirement and play let him be a midfield traineer. Let Okocha handle the midfilders and train them how to distribute accurate passes, ball control and better freekicks. His experience is needed and our midfield will be ok if Amodu will not see it as a treat. God bless Nigeria ,God bless Super Eagle.

Yes, i believe in okocha,the issue of bringing jay-jay is not a bad one,if he can do us right,let it be done because i don’t think he has a replacement…since he left the midfield notting has be done postively…and i think he is too old for that? I weep for Nigeria, a country of 150 million people, where young and talented minds can be sourced for sport, politics, and industry effortlessly. But, what do you see? This greatly endowed country always rely on worn out and antiquated ideas of 18th century rather than innovation and drive of the 21st century when there is a need and problem of choice. I am surprised that calls are been made to the midfield maestro to return back to active football after retirement. Austin Okocha made this nation proud in his hay days and we are all greatful for his heroic effort that brought glory and successes to our nation.
It is a testimony of the failure and incapability of our sports administrators that there is no competent replacement for Okocha when we have the likes of Mikel Obi et al. Mikel can be disciplined and given tact instructions and will perform; young and talented players from our proleague can be molded with tact supervision and a world class talent will be born. We need to look inward and look at new ways of doing things rather than worn and failed ways of the past if we must see greatness as a nation.
With all humility, I don’t have any problem with Okocha, he is my football hero, but this era of always looking backward is a pandemic that need to be cure if Nigeria wants to be relevant in the new world order.

of course the issue is not the return of Okocha. fine, we really miss his passes and the likes, but that we need him back right now should be thrown out. Mikel should be played as a defencive midfielder – his traditional role with chelsea and not as an attacking one. lets simply keep grooming this players and hope something better will come out of them and stay entirely out of the idea of bringing Okocha back to the Squad.

It is not the issue of Okocha coming out of retirement .The problem we are having is the attitiude of most of our player especially at the defence,with regard to these their TRADITIONAL BACK PASSES.Ttat is one of the greatest problem the team is facing.Taiye ,Yobo mikel etc are killing our game with too much back passes instead of feeding the ATTACKERS with good and killer passes to Ike Uche and other attackers to give us the goals.
Otherswise we will keep on having draws and end up not qualifing

This has being my greatest headache with this my beloved nation, Nigeria. Once ur talent is dicovered, they will lean on u endlessly; what a hell ?!, when do we grow in this country now?, after the exit of Edson arantes do nascimento a.k.a. PELE, many players came on board, because okocha retired, it means no talented midfielder again among 140million citizens, when there are thousand & one young talents awaiting discoveries out there. I think it is this stupid & stagnant reasoning ability that has for long permanently give us those feelings that it is only the “OLD PAPAs” who can always rule this country, If Obama is a Nigerian, he can never smell WHITE HOUSE, instead they would call on George Bush snr, Bill Clinton e.t.c. Al-mubarak Hussein, u’re a very lucky man. Allow Okocha 2 enjoy his hard earned wealth 4 him to re-orient himself, blend with the society & think of another bussiness or something, JAY-JAY, U HAD PAY UR DUES, REST VERY WELL, if they wan worry you relocate jare!.

@Pica Mensa, i wish you know how it pains me when i watch other people play that midfield role ( ie Non Nigerians) have u not watched the like of Essien, Muntari, they are not skillful but they are FOCUSED and RUGGED they dont dribble they just get the ball from opponents and pass. dont you watch Premiership, Totenham’s Didier Zakora he is just commited, n nothing more what abt Portsmort Rugged Senegalese, these are Africans doing very well just because they are focused and nothing more, Lets be sincere to our selves Taye Taiwo and that youngstar (Adeleye abi Adefemi)that played against france who amongst them is more focused. I think Adokiye should also come out of retirement and play on the left wing. Nonsense! The man is retired from football entirely and hasn’t played for a year and these pub commentators are making noise.

Okocha should stay away from the Jersey of the SE. Adokiye and Galadima should spend more time watching the glo premier league and recommend players for the SE and not sit in their parlour watching EPL and talking nonsense to journalists.

If Nigeria picks the 2010 World Cup ticket. That’s a statement under probability. When Nigeria picks the 2010 World Cup ticket, Austin Okocha should be deployed as a midfielder’ coach to the Super Eagles, and to lace his boots.

I remember the last match Okocha played for the Super Eagles against the Ivorians, how he was falling like an old man on almost every collision with an opponent. Remember our dear Peter Rufai against Denmark (France 1998), how he was humiliated bcos he came back from retirement. If Okocha wants to come back, it should be now when we are struggling to qualify and not after our young midfielders have sweated it out and you will then ask one of them to step down. That will be very unfair.

Okocha should be left alone to enjoy his retirement.

Mbomachukwudindu, stop attacking Galadima,he only expressed himslf. To me, if Okocha is fit, there is nothing wrong if he comes back from ritirement. He is still a young man, afterall, how old was Roger Milla when he became one of the highest goal-getters in a world cup? It is true we cannot depend on one player alone, but Okocha’s talent in the mid-field has no rival in our squad for now. Moreover, he is a toast of fans in Africa and world over. World cup is the highest tournament every soccer player will like to be part of.

John Obi Mikel is not fit to be in Eagles. The nation really needs someone like Okocha but definitely not him. Let the coaches groom from abundant talents we have in the country. A country with over 100 million people can not depend on only one player.

Okocha should be left alone to enjoy his retirement, coaches are hired to groom players that will take over from the retireing ones or are we saying that we don’t have capable hands to handle Nigerian Football?
