The bane of PHCN or “ECN” is corruption. Lack of accountability for crying out loud!!! Its has become a melting pot or point for politiicians to share their loot under the pretense of getting power generated. The best next thing for PHCN or “ECN” to do is to close down completely and then inform NIGERIANS that they can source their power wherever they wish. Then the nation will know that we do not hope for electricity indefinitely. Nigerians are cowards!!!!!!!!

The power sector in nigeria (meaning PHCN) will never work as far as our dearly beloved warlords, big men and companies want to sell generating sets. In dry season PHCN tells us that river niger is low. In rainy season, they tell us power stations got flooded, poles fell. High-tension cables disappear mysteriously.

why should a country like nigeria be using obsolete twentieth century technology (water turbines) when we have abundantly unwanted solar energy? When we can power our factories with wind farms?

no matter how much we pump into PHCN, that company is doomed to fail. Let us look at gas turbines, solar inverters, windmills and whatever… That’ll give the oil-companies a run for their money

It is obvious that there is no accountability in Nigeria both in public and private institutions. As everyone knows, without accountability there is no motivation to comply with laws including the anti-corruption programs. Nigeria government can barely function at 1 percent of its capacity. How these government officials are able to present themselves as representative of a government that can barely function at 1 percent is criminal to say the least. The executive branch is absent and corrupt. A country with so many blessings but with no courage on what to do it

One of if not the major problem PHCN is politicization of the sector by the last government. People that knows next to nothing just because they are party loyalist were in to distribute and share money. What is needed in the sector is total cleansing.

It doesn’t matter to the clowns in Abuja even if all the companies in Nigeria relocated to Ghana, as long as oil continues to flow from the Niger Delta. They don’t care about any other sector of the economy other than oil, hence the phantom amnesty to hoodwink the people to enable them continue to exploit oil

Come to think of it, they have enough money to buy petroleum products to run their generators, what do they care about the poor masses?

Only time will tell, where this Nigeria is headed!

The leadership of the country is to be blamed for the corruption in all sectors because if the head is patrotic , people under him must sit up. PHCN is the drain pipe through which your leaders loot the treasury.
Let us start be prosecuting all the past leaders that looted the country and punish them adequately as a deterant..
Let those amending your constitution make it clear that every leader must be probed after his tenure by an independent body and every civil servant that helped the executives in looting must be punished as well.

Engineer Eromosele should give us details as to how to reach his so called Anti Corruption committee. I have lots of issues concerning PHCN in PH. After all, how can I have paid my bill 10days ago, hen they cme to cut my power saying I did not paste my bill on the gate. Am I to provide records for PHCN? Shouldn’t they have the records of who has paid and who hasn’t?

PHCN needs amnesty and lay down all their corruption weaponries, if not Mr President will not be able to archive its 6000 mega watt from the power sector by the end of the year. Yar’Adua’s inability to declare state of emergency in the power sector shows that he needs amnesty too.

The word PHCN as implies , the power is in the hand of ministers, gorvernors, service military officer , retired office holders, ex -gorvernors, etc
they hold the power, (ie PHCN) , because they are the one in charge of importing Generators to this country, if not connected to the big companies , like mikano, ziatech, caterpilars, to import this product to the country, they have share in each Generator that enter into the country. setting up anti- corruption commitee is like fooling Nigerians , because they set up the commitee to steal our money more. God will interveneeeeeeee one day.

PHCN is not serious yet, to have said “corruption is to be blamed” for their failure. If PHCN is serious they will expose and prosecute people involve instead of crying “corruption” as if Corruption na Osama Bin Laden.

Why do you people carry on doing some useless rebranding exercise with the same leaders. What difference will sacking low level officials make when the big fish gets away with it. If I was in Government and serious about cleaning up the system. All Politicians and their croonies that have obivious wealth beyond their means, will have their assets confisticated and the omen will be on them to prove how they acquire their wealth. If there were evidence to support that they were involved in defrauding the state ,they should face firing squad after their assets have been seized
