What can we do to salvage the situation in nigeria. I live in a village outside nigeria but in the so called village, the are good roads, pipe.borne water and electricity 24/7. Why? Because their leaders are working and they feeling for thier people. When will this happen in nigeria. Well done vanguard for always informings of the truth.

….Hmnnn there couldn’t have been a more succinct admission of failure or a more eloquent restatement of it in such no uncertain terms that our government has failed us, there is need for a paradigm shift across board.

Describing this situation as an eye-sore would amount to an understatement.

IS IT THE 2007 ELECTION OR THE JUST CONCLUDED EXERCISE IN EKITI STATE, IS IT THE INSTABILITY OF POWER SUPPLY OR THE POT HOLES IN FEDERAL AND STATE ROADS IN LAGOS, BENIN AND ALMOST ALL THE CITIES IN THE FEDERATION, IS IT THE UNKNOWN BARRELS OF OIL LEAKING OUT OF THE COUNTRY ON DAILING BASIS OR THE YOUTH RESTIVENESS IN THE NIGER DELTA, IS IT THE RECICLING PRACTICES AND GODFATHERISM THAT HAS ENGULFED THE POLITICAL SYSTEM? What other signs are we looking for before Nigeria can be declared a failed state with all these man made disasters; an unjust War in the Delta, ASUU on Strike, bad roads that have become major centers of productivity loss, Violent robberies across the country, Doctors on strike, Teachers across the country are on strike, a major producer of crude oil that relies 98% on imports to run her economy. Our hospitals are now worse than mere consulting clinics they are morgues, a country of 150 million people that can only produce 1800 megawatts of electricity.

OBJ and his fellow traveler Mr Fix it Tony Anenih claimed to have spent over 300 billion Naira “FIXING” roads. Even war ravaged Liberia is light years ahead of us. Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia , Ghana , Kenya and even Zimbabwe that has been ravaged by the locust years of Mr Mugabe is ahead of Nigeria on all measures of development.

This Democracy is unproductive, too expensive and can not be sustained.
My prayer for Nigeria is for God to bless us with a Rawlings.

these things cant stop happening in nigeria as long as we still have these old people up there, the same thing goes to the benin-ore road. nigeria needs to grow. after the G20 summit i thought nigeria learnt a great lesson.

this is not surprising. the simple solution is to create a toll gate and levy people for using it. the same thing happens even in the best western nations. the levy will pay for the road, the only problem is that it has to be independently managed and governed so transparency of funds and usage is paramount.
