Sadip and Jessy

Before coming what did you know or hear about Nigeria?
I had heard that Nigeria is just like India.. warm and hospitable people.. great food… and  warm weather too, just like its people…

but I did hear about the theft and robbery too.. so  we were a bit hesitant…as my group had very young girls… but after coming all fears disappeared…

When you came, how did you find the event and the country?
Oh the event was organised very well.. the arrangement right from our visas,, to accommodation. and the entire event organisation… was perfect.. the stage light were so professionally handled… very impressive… in India too.. very few events are that good…

What impressions did you go away with ? How did you find the people and environment?
We all loved Lagos.. wish we had spent more time… we shopped for a few bead necklaces.. the Nigerian game (Ayo)… some fabric.. oh we had a blast…

Are you going to come again, to help for the cause of YBI?
we would love to come.. again and again.. if people want us.. its an amazing country and the energy of the audience at our show .. was out of this world.. all the cheers.. whistles.. wow.. feels wonderful to dance for such a crowd…

Bollywood has made a strong impression on the movie world, do you see it competing with Hollywood?
Oh yes it is already competing.. with Slum Dog Millionaire winning so many awards… Bollywood is now on the face… the film is all about india… and India is a lot to do with Bollywood..

Nigeria has a thriving Movie Industry called Nollywood, have you ever heard of it? And, have you seen any Nigerian movies?

On our way to Lagos we did see a Nigerian film.. name I do not recollect… it was interesting… and different…  I have heard about Nollywood… in Nigeria… I believe… they make movies after movies just like Bollywood…
Do you do a lot of charity work and how important is this?

Yes we perform for lots of charity shows.. and help raise funds.. we have worked for many child welfare organisations… from orphanages to street kids care to health for children…also for the cause of aids… animal rights (PETA)… Women empowerment…women education…

protest for killing  a girl child.. education of girl child…and now we have YBI too on our list…so many  NGOs we have worked with. Youth Business Initiative (YBI) is a special cause as it promotes self-sufficiency and creates a ripple effect in society by changing people’s lives and they pay it forward by employing others and creating production.

It is important to to raise these issues.. because NGOs need funds to run well.. and our shows.. presented in a good theme…serve many purposes… one -to entertain.. two -create the awareness about the cause… three -collect funds… four -Jessy and my so called celebrity status gets NGOs long term funding too.. as we keep involving one NGO to the other for growth..
