UGHELLI—A frontline member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Peter Eboh, has frowned at the hostilities between the military and armed youths of the Niger Delta and appealed to the military and the youths to sheathe their swords.
Eboh, who was fielding questions from newsmen in Ughelli, Delta State, said the attack on Gbaramatu kingdom by the military was unfortunate and expressed surprise over the war in the creeks of the state. He urged the militants in the region to embrace the amnesty granted by the Federal Government.
He lamented that so many lives and property were lost in the crisis, adding that several persons were also displaced from their ancestral homes noting that violence must give way for genuine dialogue that will involve all stakeholders in the region with a view to bringing to an end the age-long under-development of the region and its attendant crisis that has bedeviled the area.
Eboh who was a House of Representative aspirant under the platform of the PDP said the time to end the crisis is now which has led to the unnecessary killings of their people and destruction of their property.
While appealing to the armed youths to embrace peace and accept the government amnesty, he charged the federal government to tackle as a matter of urgency, the socio-economic problems of the people of the region.

PEACE IS A DREAM IN ILLUSION,FOR PEACE TO REIGN AS AN ELDER STATEMAN WITH HONOURABLE DESIGNATE,TELL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO REMOVE THE OCCUPATION FORCE IN OUR GOD GIVEN LAND,WE ARE NOT PRISONER NOR SLAVES EVEN THOUGH THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT HAS HELD US TO CAPTIVE FOR OVER 50 YEARS.
MY PLEA TO YOU IS TO SEND ACROSS TO BOYS SCOUT COMMANDANT A.K.A JTF TO ALLOW CAMARAMEN AND JOURNALIST TO ACCESS THE LEVEL OF CIVILIAN CASUALTIES,FOR GOD SAKE WE ARE NOT IN BOSNIA.
Una nor see dem!!.election don dey come .and so all of a sudden .they now see the virtue of suing for peace.the same bastards who just a couple of days ago were falling over themselves to give tht aboki mass murderer in aso rock approval for his genocidal strategy in the niger delta.
It’s people like you, Chief Peter Eboh, that should seek amnesty for using the People’s Derailing Party (PDP) to ruin the nation and murder N-Delta many times. How long do you expect the youths (N-Deltans) to give peace a chance? Have you not heard about self-defense; that when your life or those of the people around you are threatened force is legal to use?
When would you and others realize that MEND, the freedom fighters’ group hasn’t violated any laws of the land, but fighting to defend the region and its birth rights, which other regions-such as that of Yar’Adua-of the nation are also zealously defending?
Even though the Niger Technical Committee shied away from recommending resource control, which is the answer to this problem, what has the same government that set up the committee done with the group’s recommendations?
What about the Henry Willinks Commission; the Marshall Plan; the Ogoni Bill of Rights, etc., which serves as a modern and futuristic version of the Willinks and others that came before them? Have we not been killed enough that we should all be angry to fight? When would this game the cabals are using some of you who are also Deltan’s to play stop? I believe this game will stop when all of you drop your greed and put the region first, demanding our fundamental rights that are inalienable. It doesn’t matter what principle we adopt in fighting this cause. Those who liberate America that most of us hope to run to one day were fighters like MEND, though N-Delta isn’t seeking a nation of its own as was the American case. The latter also fought the British against exploitation, overlordship and oppression.
According to Sura 42 Verse 41, 42 , of the Koran: “All those who fight when oppressed incur no guilt, but Allah shall punish the oppressors come the day.” What’s happening in the Delta today is Allah’s punishment that Ken Saro-Wiwa quoted in his alocutus before he’s murdered for daring to peacefully ask for a fair deal for Ogoni, Niger Delta and other Nigerians. This punishment shall stay its course until the country and government get back to their senses and cede to N-Deltans their rights to be self-determined, which guarantees resource and environmental control.
Stop lamenting Chief and simply tell your parasitic president and his hausa cows to implement true federalism. And if you dont know Chief, that is what your people are demanding.
Somehow, I think some of these ND elders abi Chiefs should be warned to keep quite if they dont have anything to contribute
