No country across d globe give in to militancy, sri-lanka had just crush their long time rebel, pakistan is not taken it easy with theirs, so Nigeria should follow the amnesty process proper, & if there is any fuck up from the militant's end please Yar'Adua treat it !, what a hell ?!. Enough of these over flogging of amnesty issue please, Nigeria is a sovereign state, no region will survive without the other, we're interlocked by some common factors or another, take it or leave it, this was how BIAFRA case was carelessly handled before it expanded & became war. Now tompolo is feeling the heat he caused the oldies & kids in his village, are you happy now, mr CHARLES TAYLOR ?. Always consider things b4 u strike, u can fight 4 ur right through d media & court as stipulated by law & u won't hurt a fly.
Yaraduah should be advised not to waste the Nations money on militants as there will be no end to redressing injustice. The militants are merely going to collect the largesse from him and resume. The North should find their own oil and stop parasiting.

Somebody should tell YAR’ADUA that the solution of Niger delta is not amnesty to the militant. Has anyone analysed the demand of MEND. What are they demanding? justice only justice not amnesty. If Nigeria refuses to address these issues we will be granting amnesty every three years.

@Jim Baker,if all the Niger Deltans are like you, then I am really sorry for you all.Listen burning spear, the problems are half caused by your greedy and selfish leaders, they are not even better than the Northerners per say in any way...Do not come here to insult the south easterners,ok.The SE have showed more support to the ND this turbalent time of theirs than any other group in the country, check out different web sites.

So you burning spear have come here again to start this your ignorant tribal remarks,be warned. You think your village is the only group in the ND,no way you are just a dunce and ignorant for that matter.I support MEND but low class whimper like should just get lost and get a life. One S.Easterner is worth more than your entire village. You are out of touch,go around the SE and see for your self what individual and community efforts do in terms of development.
Mind you the entire zone is not polluted in any way,so arable land for agriculture is intact, even places like Imo and Abia that produce oil is quiet and peaceful.

For me,SE should even be interested in oil exploration and production,it is too harzadous to the enviroment, there are oil in a lot countries but for enviromental and other reasons they chose not to touch it.Ibori,Odili,Alams are all criminals and corrupt and should be targeted by MEND.

Baba, Mohammed Musa, this was what your brother IBB said when he was in power, (Given the small size and population of the oil producing areas, it is cynical to observe that, even if resentment of the oil producing areas continue, they cannot threaten the stabilty of the country nor effect its economic development) Rather than confine your thoughts to finding a lasting solution to the criminal neglect of the power sector, by your uncle Yaradua, you are here ranting about nothing-South Africa with a population of less than 40m, is able to generate over 35,000 MW of electricity-your wobbly wobbly-country called nigeria, with a population of 140m cannot even produce 20Watts of light for her impoverished masses-at night-but as national weaklings dressed in the colors a failed or failing state-you cannot complain-and have never had the guts to say NAY to epileptic ideas your leaders-except when the issues concerns or affect the poorest of the poor in the Niger Delta and the fall in production of oil-aware that -Naijas in general, never shout-even if they remain without water for the next 40yrs-provided there is well water for them to drink-from-but ever ready-to blame great leaders-like Tompolo for all the ills of our society since 1914-for a fee-look positve peace in the Niger Delta means economic justice-its not about alams and Ibori-cause they were no where near the gates of their primary schools, when Chief Dappa Biriye and Isaac Adaka Boro, launched the fight to liberate their people from the economic clutches of their internal colonizers-nor were they governors when Ken Saro Wi Wa was hanged by Abacha- your elder brother-happy though that you have now been white washed into becoming Doras propagandist here-in the 21st century-very sad indeed for a country still in search of good roads after 50yrs of independence-all we have been able to achieve is the fresh colors we put on the noose of the hang-man at Kirikiri-in readiness for our Okars, Tompolos, and may be David West and Ebitimi Banigos-less Asare-

The following are my views:
1. Every leader in Nigeria since independence has failed the people. They are all corruption personafied. Ibb is the worst of them all.
2. Those governors (old and new) from Niger Delta states are high level thieves/robbers, night operators and also sponsors of militants. They stole or robbed all the monetary accruals from 13% oil region derivation that they could have used to develop the villages and make life meaningful to the people of Niger Delta like some states in Nigeria. They shipped the cash abroad and built mansions for themselves, wives and children, and praise singers allover the world.
3. However, the solution is not in militancy. Militancy is criminality as they kidnap and kill innocent people - even their own people they claim to be fighting for. As said by one writer, we agree that the militants are old-time thieves and killers in their various communities. They are school drop-ous, drug consumers and smokers and dare-devil boys in the villages whom everyone including their elders fear very much to talk to. They found the illicit job very lucrative and decided to drop armed robbery and bank robbery in cities to faced oil bunkering and sea piracy as well as general militant activities.
4. Let us call a spade its real name. If the militants are genuine fighters of the ND region, how many development projects have they embarked upon on their own to help their people with the millions of Dollars they have made over the years from illegal oil activities? For eg some communities embark upon self help developmental activities, and invite their friends and companies, State govt, LGA, etc for donation. How many have they done. These militants have made millions of US Dollars through their illegal operations but still there is nothing to show for it in their villages. They cannot provide ordinary borehole water for their people to drink from. Where is the money? They use it only to carry women and live high lives in the creeks and sometimes in cities. They use same to acquire more weapons of destruction. to terrorize the creeks and water ways.
4. Nigerians we forget too easily. Why did Julius Berger leave Niger Delta and abandoned the road project. Why kidnapping and/or killing of the contractors and workers providing social amenities for the people? Still someone will call the action "Emancipation". This is not the type of "emancipation we need". SaroWiwa has done it well and we should borrow a leaf from him.
5.I very much agree with the comments made by one of the writers. They are stated below: "the clarmour for the emancipation of the region is and has been fought by the very true sons of the region(KEN SARO WIWA)everyother fighters there today are ROBBERS,they are the bad elements in their society, useless youths who were armed by the politicians and local village heads turned millitants today, thiefs who are the night maruaders of the vicinty, and killers of joys of the few hardworking youths, sorrow carriers and death harbingers to their fellow villagers,if i may ask you the politicians that sent you this errand,HOW MANY OF THEIR RELATIVES OR SONS ARE FIGHTING WITH ARMS ALONGSIDE WITH YOU?they have accumulated moneys and using you as baits to strenghten their financial base, and using you to destroy your own village, imagine the levels of your gullibility!yet those cliaming they are fighting for the cause of the region are yesyeryears ROBBERS and BUNKERRS,enemy of state, now turn MESSIAH,the ASARI DOKUBO you all are praising was once for your info a notorious robber with TOM ATEKE until when sharing formular was usrup by their boss then they fell out amonugts themsefl, today ASARI is the sefl acclaimed MESSIAH,and a local folk hero, news reaching my hearing say that he is even prepering to hit the senate by next general election, pls fellow raders tell me,IN A STATE WHERE RITIRED ARM ROBBERS AND SERIAL KILLERS MAKE LAWS,WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FATE OF THE CITIZENS OF SUCH A NATION"

Mohammed Musa will you keep quiet over what you know nothing about? How much has been used to develop Abuja? And how much sent to Niger Delta? How much money did IBB steal during the oil windfall alone? $12B still uncounted for in 1991 only.
May the pipelines continue revolting against this imperial delusion called Nigeria. May oil exports drop till justice is enthroned in the Niger Delta. May NNPC pipelines go dry until the Boma brother's death is recognised and thier remains given a befitting burial.

My Nigerian Brothers,

Lets face the simple fact on-ground, the Niger Delta struggle is a genuine and legitimate one except for a few criminals who has capitalised on the opportunity provided by the genuine fight for survival to achieve their selfish aims.
The truth is that , there is nothing known as one Nigeria, the entity called Nigeria is a political mistake which only the nothern parasites have benefited from.
If the Niger Deltans should remove criminality from this fight, anybody who casts an iota of blame on them must have his/her head examined. All blames should go to the British, US, and some European governments who have manipulated our polital systems for their selfish gains. They successfully imposed the nothern fools on Nigerian political leadership, knowing full well that they lack knowledge. ( they be mumu).

Nigerians lets wake-up from this sleep that has taken decades and re-write our history. Enough is Enough.

Niger Delta episode is sad due to long neglect but the attention and awareness it wanted has been created. The problem now is how have the leaders managed the resources within the past 10 years. If they had a leader like Fashola, appreciable development would have been seen. Obviously, genuine agaitation has turned to criminality. All these so-called militants are fighting for themselves. They should give peace a chance and allow for development of the region.

What the soldiers and Yaradua govt. here called Fed govt of Nigeria, should know is that from all indication, every sons and daughters of the N/D are agrief with events in the region. And therefore are sending all the future leaders of the region, you call militants as their messenger to the govt.
How then can you promise 5obillion to a messenger? Does that help the message? What is the wisdom and justice in embracing a mere messenger and rejecting the message or the agriefed master?
Were Isaac Boro , Ken, Kaima declaration, and Asari Dukubo not messengers offered different nigeria govt evil gifts.
Has those offers detered the message from lovers of their Region?
What is the image of Nigeria today before the world? Mr. President, will fiscal and true federalism harm your personal family? was your family part of the oath of office takien or the general wel-being of the Nigerian State? It will be an uphill task to come to an agreement with this people when finally they have stopped all the oil as you can see that God is on their side today.
former president shehu Shagari once said, his worst enemy were not the general public that was making constructive criticism, but the so called closest friends and advicers around him when he was in the control of power. so he knew more of what would have been the best for Nigeria after his reign than when he was intoxicated with power.

Its always so easy for Niger Delta indigenes to blame the Federal government of Nigeria, none of these deltans would ever ask why a Bayelsa that gets the highest monthly allocation is the way it is, the same with Delta, Rivers and the other states, you all shout no jobs, how many of your people would be absolved into the oil sector, is it the same loud mouth over zealous Ijaw boy who knows little but yet fails to develop himself because he feels he knows all that should be employed. My friends we all know even if each Deltan was given USD 1Bn per month you all would find something else to complain about. My advise is keep blowing up the pipes your bleak future would surely tell you how your past stupidity has been limitless.
