Ogun crisis: Daniel redeploys Special Adviser on Legislative Matters

By Kolade Larewaju

ABEOKUTA –  THE face-off between Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State and members of the House of Assembly yesterday claimed its first casualty as the Governor today  ordered the redeployment of his Special Adviser on Legislative matters, Mr. Sesan Lawal.

He was immediately replaced with another former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Sina Aroyeun who was until yesterday Special Adviser in the Bureau of Employment Generation.

A statement by the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Samuel announcing the redeployment said that Mr. Lawal would now resume at the Bureau of Employment Generation to take over from Aroyeun.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Finance; Mr. Kehinde Sogunle, the Accountant General; Mr. Babatunde Salawu and the Auditor General;Mr. Raji Samsudeen are expected to appear before the house tomorrow to give details of the state’s financial indebtedness.

The three top government functionaries were summoned at the last sitting of the House on Thursday when the Accountant General; Mr. Salawu could not give the details of the debt profile of the state when asked.

Mr Salawu had stunned members of the State House of Assembly when he told them that he did not have the figures for the debt profile of the state.

Rather, he said that the House should summon the State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Kehinde Sogunle and the Auditor General; Mr. Raji Samsudeen to ascertain the actual debt profile.

I think something is really wrong. Daniel and Lawal both Came from Omu-Ijebu and they were said to be in good accord. I hope the redployment is in the interest of good services to the Ogun State people.

Everybody thought Gbenga Daniel could have been the messiah Ogun people need to move a head but with so much revelation of fraud in his administration,it goes a long way to show how PDP governors all over the country are performing below expectation. For ones, have never seen him performing.People were deceived by his cordial relationship with OBJ until the thing went soar.

Honestly we’re tired of this Governor. He has lost focus and I doubt if there can be any meaniful development in Ogun State in the next two years. It is a well known fact that he did not win the April 14, 2007 election.

What are they really doing in Ogun state finance again. I see it as another brabra to for manovering. Non of them is better.
