AWAKA - THE last may not have been heard of the controversial N250 million allegedly intercepted from an aide of Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State by the police in Lagos, as enormous pressure is being mounted on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)- dominated Anambra State House of Assembly to commence impeachment against Obi over the matter.
Apparently not comfortable with the cordial relationship existing between Governor Obi and the House, the national leadership of the party has summoned the 30 lawmakers to Abuja for a meeting tomorrow (Thursday) to drum it into their ears on the dangers of their continued hobnobbing with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)- controlled state government.
The letter addressed to the Speaker, Chief Anayo Nebe and signed by the national secretary of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Kawa Baraje reads: “At its meeting of 17th June, 2009, the National Working Committee reviewed the development in the PDP-controlled Anambra State House of Assembly and resolved that a meeting be held with all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly members.
“I therefore write to invite you to a crucial meeting with the National Working Committee on Thursday, 25th June, 2009 at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza , Abuja by 12 noon.
“Kindly inform other members of the PDP caucus in Anambra House of Assembly.”
Anambra State government officials believe that the real motive behind the invitation was to direct the lawmakers to impeach Obi by all means before the 2010 elections.
Though the House recently set up a three-member committee to investigate the allegation surrounding the N250 million, members appear to be sharply divided over the matter as some of the members insisted that there was nothing to use against the governor on the issue of N250 million.
Only recently, the National Vice Chairman of the party in charge of the South East, Chief Olisa Metuh visited the House and chided the members for cooperating with the governor.
He also directed them to either commence Obi’s impeachment or move a motion asking the federal government to declare a state of emergency in the state over the increasing rate of armed robbery and kidnapping, assuring them of the support of the Presidency on the matter.
They were also promised automatic tickets for the 2011 elections should they succeed in removing Obi.

PDP has started again! Here they come again! The thieves and their public relations mercenaries. Anambra people should know that if they allow the PDP to install their puppet Virgy Etiaba, then not only will all our money be gone, the state will be a theater of war soon. Etiaba will simply hand over to Andy or Chris Uba (the Abuja stooges). I don’t know what the PDP think about Anambra and Ndigbo, but they will soon find out that every Anambra man is a potential Ngige when they get to the government house. Why, because he would soon find out that it is impossible to steal our money and get away with it. Secondly, he would realize that he is the latest weapon deployed by the Hausa/ Fulani against Ndigbo and would become wiser eventually! Anambra people, Igbo people, the civil war is alive and well. Defend your coffers against thieves waiting to lay siege on our destiny as a great tribe and people. They cannot stop our march to greatness failrly, so the only way is to stop us by imposing a stooge who will depend on Abuja for survival. If you depend on Abuja for survival, you will not develop! Simple and short! They want to force UNITARY system of government on Ndigbo. The federal system has failed because the North cannot contribute anything to it (as always). The only way is to force everybody to depend on Abuja, and to claim that everybody needs oil money to survive. Hausa/Fulani leave Ndigbo alone! Leave us alone. Go and form your own country and work hard for once in your lives to sustain it! Stop forcing fake unity on the country. Stop trying to steal our state and our destiny! Soon you will tell us that there is always an Igbo man willing to be bought, but the question is; why put the barrel of gun on us if you know that is true? If we (Igbos) are armed today, how many of us can you buy? Without the arms which you use to commit genocide against our people, how many Igbos can you buy?
Leave us alone! Nigeria is not indivisible. It is already divided alone the lines of your indolence and greed!
Stay away from Anambra state. Do not force us into armed struggle, because if we are forced into it, Nigeria will not survive this time around. Stay away from Anambra State. Allow us to chose our leaders! If you don’t, you better start signing funeral song (dirge) to Nigeria!
If Obi is impeached, you better start counting down to another showdown in Nigeria. Ndigbo are already badly bruised by years of PDP marginalization. Ndigbo are being gradually pushed to the wall. Leave us alone and stay away from Anambra state!!!!!!
Peter need to tell us all he knew about 250m, just 255m or less than 10% of 250m found with his aide/ contractor near his lagos office. How can a genuine transaction of such magnitude be done by cash in an unsecured country. Peters continued silence is no more golden for we know how often Peter Obi used to make press releases whenever Ngige visit any construction site in Anambra, debunking whatever Ngige must have said. I know how Peter defended self during impeachment of 2007 with ABS radio telling us his innocence. But this time around he only wants EFCC to investigate and no more Peter we voted for telling us. Im not impressed with his continued silence. He need to answer WHEN WHERE WHAT HOW and any other question asked. This is no more for politics. I pity nigerian leaders and there insincerity.
its time peter Obi will open up about this 250m thing. We need not wait the outcome of police or EFCC investigation for Peter to clear himself. Let investigation continues but Peter must open up to the people because his goverance came from the people, I wonder if Peter”s hands are clean he would have made morethan 50 press releases since the allegation started. Silent is no more golden.
