I've been to a couple of countries and I must confess that it is only in MMA that I have seen baggages being screened manuall by hand. Whatever happened to intelligence, scanners, sniffer dogs and all 21st century technology. It's always an embarrassing situation to have a low-life siff through your baggage and asking you what is this? what is that? It is also no news that these NDLEA officers connive with the smugglers to export narcotics and the few ones ever caught before boarding are those who have decided to play smart by not ''settling'' and going it alone. The truth remains that without the proper screening equipment at the Lagos Airport, this will still be an issue...the fact of the matter is that at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport this june you have a situation where you luggage was being screened by hand!! By hand, I mean what sort of backwards thinking and implementation of a drug policy is that?? So NDLEA, if you guys want to be taken seriously and want to avoid the embarrassment of Nigerians getting caught overseas BECAUSE YOU GUYS DID NOT DO YOUR JOBS PROPERLY?? Invest in the right screening equipment!! Enough is enough. Look, the NDLEA can kick and scream all they want.
